About The Author
Robert Studer devotes his time to educating the public on the importance of emergency preparedness. Robert started his successful company SurvivalCentral.ca in 2012 which offers training, resources and products. He has earned several certificates from the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University. Robert works with the Durham Catholic School Board and the Durham Public Libraries providing preparedness-based programs and survival skills training for children and adults.
Robert believes that it is important to educate children on emergency preparedness, so that they will feel more secure. Therefore, he began working on a book to encourage families to create their own emergency kits. After adopting Molly a rescue dog from TAGS (The Animal Guardian Society), Robert was amazed at how resilient she was. It wasn’t long before this sweet and spunky dog inspired Robert to have her as the main character in the book, Molly Gets Prepared. Robert felt children would be able to relate to Molly as she learned that she didn’t have to be scared if she was prepared. Together Robert and Molly are spreading the message of emergency preparedness to children by visiting schools and libraries.
